Seven Softball Players Earn Region 2 Awards
Seven Eastern softball players earned 2022-2023 NJCAA Region 2 Division I Awards.
Braleigh King, Makenzie Martin and Greenlee Wells were named to the All-Region 2 First Team. Hailey Vela was named to the All-Region 2 Second Team. Chloe Brown, McKinley Feazle, and Keeley Johnson earned Honorable Mention.
King is a freshman designated player from Holdenville, Okla. In 47 games this season, she compiled a .451 batting average with 7 HR, 49 RBI and 13 runs scored.
Martin is a freshman pitcher/infielder from Alma, Ark. In 47 games at the plate this season, she compiled a .396 batting average with 10 HR, 42 RBI and 22 runs scored. In the circle, Martin made 27 appearances and posted a 3.72 ERA with an even 100 strikeouts. She was also named Region 2 Pitcher of the Week in Week 5.
Wells is a freshman infielder from Vian, Okla. In 49 games this season, she compiled a .389 batting average with 14 HR, 57 RBI and 46 runs scored. Wells was also twice named Region 2 Player of the Week in Week 5 and Week 6.
Vela is a freshman infielder from Flower Mound, Texas. In 49 games this season, she compiled a .388 batting average with 4 HR, 27 RBI and 55 runs scored.
Brown is a freshman pitcher from Coalgate, Okla. In the circle, she made 29 appearances and posted a 4.19 ERA with 84 strikeouts.
Feazle is a sophomore infielder from Ada, Okla. In 49 games this season, she compiled a .313 batting average with 7 HR, 25 RBI and 42 runs scored.
Johnson is a freshman infielder from Rattan, Okla. In 49 games this season, she compiled a .277 batting average with 9 HR, 38 RBI and 26 runs scored.
