Williams, Ezekiel Named to All-Region Team

Two Eastern women's basketball players were named to 2019-2020 NJCAA Region II Division I All-Region teams.

Deja Williams, a freshman guard from Manvel, Texas, was named to the First Team All-Region. Kenzie Ezekiel, a sophomore guard from Wilburton, Okla., was named to the Second Team All-Region.

Williams was the Region II Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks from Jan. 13 to Jan. 26, 2020. She started every game this season and averaged 16.2 points, 2.4 assists and 4.6 rebounds per game during the regular season. Williams also shot 34.7 percent from beyond the arc and 75.4 percent from the free-throw line.

Ezekiel was the Region II Player of the Week for Feb. 10-16, 2020. She appeared in every game this season and averaged 15.1 points, 1.7 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game during the regular season. Ezekiel also shot 32.6 percent from beyond the arc and 79.3 percent from the free-throw line.

The Eastern women's basketball team will begin its run toward a Region II Tournament title Wednesday, March 4, at 6 P.M. in the Mabee Arena on the campus of Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Okla. Eastern is the 2-seed in the tournament and will play the winner of the NEO/NOC-Tonkawa play-in game held on Monday, March 2.
