Crystal Ortiz Earns NJCAA Region 2 Player of the Week Honors

Eastern Oklahoma State College freshman Crystal Ortiz has earned her first Player of the Week award for the season. She was named the NJCAA Region 2 Player of the Week for Jan. 25-31, 2021. She is the first Eastern women's basketball player to earn the distinction so far this season.

Ortiz is a freshman forward from Sallisaw, Okla. She is currently averaging 16 points per game while shooting 44.2 percent from the field and 31.8 percent from beyond the arc. Ortiz is also shooting 60 percent from the free-throw line so far this season.
